Listography: Episode 33 – Remembering Kobe

The world stopped Sunday afternoon. Kobe Bryant dead. How? Where? Why? So many questions and no sense to make of it all. Our heroes aren’t supposed to go like this. The suddenness of it all only added to the heartbreak and it became even worse when the news came out that his daughter Gianna and seven others were on board.

Kobe Bryant was a legend in every sense of the word. He was the NBA for a generation and, while it had only been a few years, he had so gracefully slid into retirement and family life. For all his awards and accolades on the court, he seemed to enjoy just being a dad off it.

It’s tragic that those nine individuals are no longer here with us and the mourning process throughout the league will take time. As for fans, we grieve for a man we did not know, but who played such a large part in our lives. This week, we sat down and counted down 8 Kobe Moments as we remember the life and legacy of one of the greatest to ever do it.

Share your Kobe stories with us as pay tribute to Mamba. You can join in on the conversation on our FacebookTwitter and/or Instagram. Thanks for listening and don’t forget to subscribe, rate and review on iTunes.

MANTI TE’O HOAX TIMELINE

Listography: Episode 28 – NFL Special Pt. II

College football has arrived and this week the NFL is back as well. The journey to the Super Bowl begins Thursday night with the Chicago Bears hosting the Green Bay Packers to kick off the 100th season of the NFL.

Before kickoff though, take a few minutes to listen to Part II of our NFL Special. First, we break down the USA Today’s ranking of the 100 Greatest NFL Teams of All-Time. A Herculean task by the USA Today, the list gets it right at the top with the ’85 Bears. After that, it is certainly up for debate so let us know your thoughts.

We’ve talked plenty about the past over the course of these two shows, but to finish this episode out we give you our biggest storylines for the upcoming season. Unfortunately we recorded this show before many headlines (looking at you, Andrew Luck) broke, but nonetheless, it’s a quality segment that ends with our Super Bowl predictions. Tsuleff decided to take the Saints, while Wad elected to go with the Chargers.

After you’re done listening, hop on our FacebookTwitter and/or Instagram where you can find more content. Thanks for listening and don’t forget to subscribe, rate and review on iTunes.

Listography: Episode 27 – NFL Special Pt. I

If you thought we were done with football then think again! We’re back for another week of pigskin talk, but this time we’re moving to the NFL. Whereas the last two weeks we looked at our favorites with college football, we’re back to Mount Rushmores in this week’s episode.

For years people have debated who are the best quarterbacks, running backs and wide receivers, and we’re here to settle all that talk. The episode didn’t come without controversy though as Wad said something so silly in the running backs segment that Tsuleff couldn’t even get mad because he was so perplexed. We’ll let you listen to hear exactly who was left off.

There’s plenty to break down in this packed episode so listen and then share your opinion. There’s plenty of places to do so with our FacebookTwitter and/or Instagram where you can also go for more content. Thanks for listening and don’t forget to subscribe, rate and review on iTunes.

There’s plenty more to be discussed when it comes to college football and that’s why we needed a part two. We’re back with more football talk and in this episode we’re breaking down the best traditions, games and tailgate food.

There might not be another sport that feeds off tradition more than college football. Every school has multiple things that fans and players look forward to, but we agreed that one school is head and shoulders above the rest when it comes to tradition.

As far as games go, our generation has been absolutely blessed. There have been so many incredible games and yet somehow we agreed on all three that we picked. Let us know if you have one that should be included.

Lastly, tailgate food might be just as important as the game so don’t skip the last segment. The party won’t be very live if the food is no good!

Give the show a listen below and keep it tuned to our FacebookTwitter and/or Instagram for more content. Thanks for listening and don’t forget to subscribe, rate and review on iTunes.

Listography: Episode 21

It’s summer and that means games! Video games, board games, lawn games…you name it, we’re going to cover it. This week we’re starting with video games and merging two of our loves: video games and sports.

What is the Mount Rushmore of Sports Video Games? What are 3 Things you want to see in the future of sports video games? Madden and NBA 2K ratings – did they get it right? We tackle all these hard hitting questions and more in the latest show, while also making pleas to Humongous Entertainment, the NCAA and EA Sports to please help us out.

We think the best segment though is in the middle of the show. Instead of Rave About Faves, we decided to do a draft involving the original 30 neighborhood kids from Backyard Baseball. It’s a segment loaded with nostalgia, which will have you rummaging through the computer cabinet drawers at your parents’ house in search of the old disc to pop in.

We appreciate you listening as always and don’t forget to subscribe, rate and review on iTunes and then follow Listography on FacebookTwitter and Instagram. We’ll be back next week with a new show!

Listography: Episode 14

Hello again, friends! We’re back after a few weeks off to focus on busy work schedules and we have a new series coming at you. With movies in the books, we’re shifting our focus to music. Much like the movie madness series, we will go through by decade and take a look at the best artists, bands, songs and much more. On this episode, we’re taking a look at the GOAT of music decades: the 1960’s.

The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Beach Boys and many more dominated the decade that has shaped our music forever. You will hear plenty of talk about those bands in this episode as we break down the Mount Rushmore of 60’s Music Acts and then give you our Top 5 Favorite Songs of the 60’s.

Since we haven’t done a pod in a few weeks, we finish up the show with Three Things Since Our Last Show. Avengers: Endgame, Robert Pattinson and the NBA were on our mind. We hope you enjoy the show, and most of all, we hope it encourages you to put the needle down on a classic record.

Listography Episode 10 – Masters & NBA Playoff Special

The greatest time of year for a sports fan rolls on with The Master’s and the NBA Playoffs beginning this weekend. While we are not a sports-only podcast, it’s difficult to stay away from such great events and so here we are, once again, with more sports chatter for your ears.

Our good friend Skipper Lentscher joined us for the show, and being a big-time golf fan from the state of Wisconsin, he has plenty to say in both segments. What’s the greatest Master’s performance of all-time? We break down our Mount Rushmore in that category to open the show.

The NBA Playoffs seem to be wide open this season. In segment two we give you our Top 5 Favorites to win the NBA Title. Spoiler alert: we don’t agree with which team will be the last one standing!

Listography: Episode 9 – Baseball Special Pt. III

Let’s wrap this MLB preview up with the final installment in the Listography Baseball Special. Like the previous two shows, we’re looking at the four greatest players in two different divisions: the American League West and the National League West. Nate Wadley is back to help us one more time and these divisions stirred up the strongest opinions among the three of us. Steroids played a role in leaving some of the game’s best off Mount Rushmore and we cover that topic at length.

Tsuleff also professed his love for Jimmie Foxx and Nate did the same for Ichiro. Wad spent his time getting Tsuleff fired up over his selections of noted steroid users Alex Rodriguez and Barry Bonds. All in all, it’s a loaded show to finish up what has been a fun series for us!

Listography: Episode 8 – Baseball Special Pt. II

MLB Opening Day is just one day away, but Part II of the Listography Baseball Special is here today. Nate Wadley is back to help us with the show and the format is unchanged from Part I. We’re taking a look at the greatest MLB players of all-time by breaking down the Mount Rushmore (Top 4) of each division. We open up discussing the Mount Rushmore of the American League Central before diving into our favorite division, the National League Central.

In our final segment, we give you Three Things we’re looking forward to in the National League, which involves some bold predictions on Bryce Harper and the Phillies along with plenty of praise for Rockies’ stud third basemen Nolan Arenado.

If you thought Part I was packed, give Part II a listen and let us know your thoughts. Is Pete Rose on your NL Central Mount Rushmore? What’s your stance on players from pre-WWII in all-time rankings? Leave us your thoughts below or on our Twitter page @Listography_Pod.

Don’t forget to subscribe, rate and review on iTunes and, as always, thanks for listening! Come back Friday for the third and final part of the Listography Baseball Special.
