Listography 51 – The Greatest Stretch in Sports

Sports is the gift that keeps on giving. At any point on the calendar there are multiple leagues in play, but it’s clear there are stretches where sports is at its best. That’s the topic of Episode 51: what stretch on the calendar is the best?

We put up a parameter of a three month period and then debated which one was the greatest. Is it the spring months when March Madness, The Masters, and MLB Opening Day highlight the slate? Or are you more into the winter months when basketball and hockey are underway, while football goes into bowl/playoff mode? And don’t forget the summer with baseball, NBA and NHL championships, and the Olympics or World Cup.

Give this one a listen and then sound off! What’s your favorite? You can let us know on social media, FacebookTwitter and/or Instagram to join the conversation. Thanks for listening and be sure to subscribe, rate and review on iTunes.

Listography Ep. 45

*tap* *tap* *tap* Is this thing on?? We’re baaaaack! After a long hiatus due to big changes in our personal lives, we’re knocking off the rust and getting back in the game. On Episode 45, we’re discussing the biggest storylines of the NBA playoffs and the most annoying things in sports right now.

We’re aiming for shorter shows and a bit more in-depth conversation on topics as we revisit what our show should be so we hope you enjoy. We promise we’ll be back soon!

Listography: Episode 42 – TV Series Pt. II

Paternity leave is over for Wad and Listography is back in action! The TV series returns with part two and this time we’re diving into the world of sports. Those who have listened know this is our sweet spot and we put together an hour of conversation about the Mount Rushmore of Sports Broadcast Teams and our Top 5 ESPN 30 for 30’s.

With ESPN continuing to pump out quality documentaries, the job has only become tougher to narrow the list to five. From crime dramas like OJ: Made in America to 90’s nostalgia like The Last Dance and The U, 30 for 30 routinely leaves us wanting more.

Listography: Episode 35 – 2020 MLB Special Pt. I

Well, times are strange these days with the coronavirus running rampant through our world. First and foremost, we wish everyone nothing but safety and good health during these times. Staying home and avoiding people can be difficult and a bit depressing, but we’re here to help!

Obviously (as you will find out when you start listening), we recorded our 2020 MLB Special before all the craziness went down, but we’ve decided to release it anyway. Nate Wadley once again stopped by to join the show and we went about things a bit differently this year. Because we talked for so long, we decided to divide the show into two parts and part one below is our all-time favorite MLB team. We’ve constructed a lineup of our favorite players at each position.

It was no simple task to narrow it down, but we’re confident that we each built a team that would not only be fun, but could also win some ball games. Part II of the MLB Special will drop later this week and in that episode we will talk more about the upcoming season.

For now though, give Part I a listen and let us know your all-time favorite team! Connect with us right here on the blog or follow us on social media, FacebookTwitter and/or Instagram to join the conversation. Thanks for listening and don’t forget to subscribe, rate and review on iTunes.

Another decade has come and gone, and for the sports world it was one of the best to date. The Cubs ended their World Series drought, LeBron brought a title to Cleveland, Simone Biles emerged as perhaps the most dominant athlete ever and so much more. Where to begin on this review??

We’re back after a busy winter season and we break down our Top 5 Sports Moments of the Decade, Mount Rushmore of Championship Performance and Top 5 Storylines/Drama/Trades of the Decade. It’s a packed show that will take you down memory lane.

Give the episode a listen and don’t be shy with your opinions! You can follow us on our FacebookTwitter and/or Instagram and join the conversation. Thanks for listening and don’t forget to subscribe, rate and review on iTunes.

MANTI TE’O HOAX TIMELINE

Listography: Episode 21

It’s summer and that means games! Video games, board games, lawn games…you name it, we’re going to cover it. This week we’re starting with video games and merging two of our loves: video games and sports.

What is the Mount Rushmore of Sports Video Games? What are 3 Things you want to see in the future of sports video games? Madden and NBA 2K ratings – did they get it right? We tackle all these hard hitting questions and more in the latest show, while also making pleas to Humongous Entertainment, the NCAA and EA Sports to please help us out.

We think the best segment though is in the middle of the show. Instead of Rave About Faves, we decided to do a draft involving the original 30 neighborhood kids from Backyard Baseball. It’s a segment loaded with nostalgia, which will have you rummaging through the computer cabinet drawers at your parents’ house in search of the old disc to pop in.

We appreciate you listening as always and don’t forget to subscribe, rate and review on iTunes and then follow Listography on FacebookTwitter and Instagram. We’ll be back next week with a new show!

Listography: Episode 9 – Baseball Special Pt. III

Let’s wrap this MLB preview up with the final installment in the Listography Baseball Special. Like the previous two shows, we’re looking at the four greatest players in two different divisions: the American League West and the National League West. Nate Wadley is back to help us one more time and these divisions stirred up the strongest opinions among the three of us. Steroids played a role in leaving some of the game’s best off Mount Rushmore and we cover that topic at length.

Tsuleff also professed his love for Jimmie Foxx and Nate did the same for Ichiro. Wad spent his time getting Tsuleff fired up over his selections of noted steroid users Alex Rodriguez and Barry Bonds. All in all, it’s a loaded show to finish up what has been a fun series for us!

Listography Episode 9 | Baseball Special Pt. III

Listography: Episode 8 – Baseball Special Pt. II

MLB Opening Day is just one day away, but Part II of the Listography Baseball Special is here today. Nate Wadley is back to help us with the show and the format is unchanged from Part I. We’re taking a look at the greatest MLB players of all-time by breaking down the Mount Rushmore (Top 4) of each division. We open up discussing the Mount Rushmore of the American League Central before diving into our favorite division, the National League Central.

In our final segment, we give you Three Things we’re looking forward to in the National League, which involves some bold predictions on Bryce Harper and the Phillies along with plenty of praise for Rockies’ stud third basemen Nolan Arenado.

If you thought Part I was packed, give Part II a listen and let us know your thoughts. Is Pete Rose on your NL Central Mount Rushmore? What’s your stance on players from pre-WWII in all-time rankings? Leave us your thoughts below or on our Twitter page @Listography_Pod.

Don’t forget to subscribe, rate and review on iTunes and, as always, thanks for listening! Come back Friday for the third and final part of the Listography Baseball Special.

Listography: Episode 7 – Baseball Special Pt. I

Spring is in the air and that means baseball season has arrived. Listography is celebrating with a baseball blowout throughout the week! Three episodes packed with predictions, history of the game and debates on who is the greatest.

We couldn’t do this alone so we have Nate Wadley joining us for all three episodes and the three of us break down the Mount Rushmore of each division all-time. It was a tall task, but we each picked the top four players from the five teams in each division. In Part I, we discuss the Mount Rushmore of the AL East and the NL East before ending the show with three predictions in the American League this season.

The next three episodes will certainly stir some debate so we want to hear from you! Leave us a comment below or send us a tweet @Listography_Pod. As always, thanks for listening, and check back Wednesday for our Mount Rushmores of the AL and NL Central divisions.
