Listography: Episode 22 – Disney Special

As if you hopped in a time machine and headed back to the 1990’s, Disney has released Aladdin, Lion King and Toy Story in theaters this summer. It’s very much 2019 though, with live action remakes the hot new thing and Toy Story 4 continuing Pixar’s finest series of films.

With Disney at the forefront of the summer movie schedule, we decided to drop a Disney Special to celebrate. It’s no small task to tackle so we brought on our resident Disney expert: Ryan Harter. The three of us broke down the Mount Rushmore of Pixar Movies before listing our Top 5 Favorite Disney Animated Classics.

Controversy ensued at certain parts as we disagreed on movies like Wall-E, The Aristocats and Incredibles 2, but that’s the beauty of Disney. There are so many great films that these lists could go many different directions.

What about you? What makes your list for these categories? Drop us a comment below or get in touch with us on FacebookTwitter and/or Instagram. Thanks for listening and don’t forget to subscribe, rate and review on iTunes.

It’s summer and that means games! Video games, board games, lawn games…you name it, we’re going to cover it. This week we’re starting with video games and merging two of our loves: video games and sports.

What is the Mount Rushmore of Sports Video Games? What are 3 Things you want to see in the future of sports video games? Madden and NBA 2K ratings – did they get it right? We tackle all these hard hitting questions and more in the latest show, while also making pleas to Humongous Entertainment, the NCAA and EA Sports to please help us out.

We think the best segment though is in the middle of the show. Instead of Rave About Faves, we decided to do a draft involving the original 30 neighborhood kids from Backyard Baseball. It’s a segment loaded with nostalgia, which will have you rummaging through the computer cabinet drawers at your parents’ house in search of the old disc to pop in.

We appreciate you listening as always and don’t forget to subscribe, rate and review on iTunes and then follow Listography on FacebookTwitter and Instagram. We’ll be back next week with a new show!

It’s been a journey, but the Music Series is coming to an end. From the 1960’s all the way through the 2010’s, we have now covered each decade’s best artists and our favorite songs. Which decade is the best? We will leave that up to you!

Full Music Series: 1960’s | 1970’s | 1980’s | 1990’s | 2000’s

First though, give the new show a listen. The 2010’s have been dominated by women and they have plenty of Grammy’s between them. Taylor Swift, Adele, Lady Gaga and Rihanna aren’t stopping anytime soon, but neither are Bruno Mars, Drake and many others.

As we finish up the music series, it’s time to focus our attention on games. Our summer games series will kick off next week and we will be discussing everything from video games to lawn games throughout.

Listography: Episode 19 | 4th of July Special

Happy birthday, America! Independence Day is upon us and we’re celebrating with a walk down memory lane. What moments made this great country? Some are good, some are bad, but there’s no denying that our Mount Rushmore of Moments That Made America did just that: they made us who we are today.

We’re pretty smart guys who love history, but this task was too tall for us so we enlisted the help of Tsuleff’s sister, Maria Lehr. Maria has a history degree from Taylor University and graciously accepted our invitation to join us on the show.

History is complex so there’s only one segment in this episode, but put it on, throw some burgers and dogs on the grill and get your mind right for some fireworks. Happy Fourth of July from Listography!

Summer vacation is over and we are back, baby! This music series rolls on and into a new millennium as we tackle the 2000’s in the latest episode. For once, we both gave answers that didn’t fire the other one up on our Mount Rushmore as we gave credit to the R&B and hip-hop artists that defined the decade.

Full Music Series: 1960’s | 1970’s | 1980’s | 1990’s

While the songs of the 2000’s were all over the place, we each managed to pick our five favorites and we finished the show with 3 Things We Recommend. It’s been a busy summer and we’ve been doing a lot so we figured we would pass along a few recommendations.

Wad professed his love for Traeger Grills and Tsuleff broke down his family trip to Hawaii, but there’s so much jam-packed into this episode. Give the show a listen and let us know your thoughts! The 90’s edition of the Music Series has arrived and it is just as diverse, surprising and weird as the decade itself was. Boy bands, the rise of rap and Britney Spears probably come to mind, but don’t forget about country and alternative rock becoming mainstream.

Full Music Series: 1960’s | 1970’s | 1980’s

While the music was great, far too many musicians left us too young. Kurt Cobain, Biggie and Tupac were gone just as they reached fame and it left us wondering, “What if?”

In this episode you will get the usual: the Mount Rushmore of 90’s Music Acts and our Top 5 Favorite Songs of the 90’s, but you will also get a breakdown of a few other artists and key moments that we think define the decade.

We appreciate you listening and interacting with us. Don’t forget to subscribe, rate and review on iTunes and then follow Listography on Facebook and Twitter.

Create Your Music Festival

Hypothetically let’s say you have $15 in your pocket. With some of the greatest music artists available to you, pick the best music festival from the graphic below without going over $15 and using at least one artist from each decade.

No one said it would be easy to narrow it down, but it will certainly be a dynamite show! After you make your selections, drop a comment below. Don’t forget to subscribe, rate and review on iTunes and then follow Listography on Facebook and Twitter.

You can also check our Music Series below. Thanks for listening!

1960’s | 1970’s | 1980’s

Listography: Episode 16

The 80’s was an iconic decade. The styles were bold, the hair was big and the music was great. Some of the best solo performers we’ve ever heard blessed us with their talents in the 80’s and they’re all right here in Part III of our Music Series.

The 60’s and the 70’s were loaded with great bands, but you will find the best male and female solo performers in this episode, along with some rock bands that certainly deserve a mention.

Check out the Mount Rushmore of 80’s Musical Acts and our Top 5 Favorite Songs of the 80’s! Next week we’re back with the 90’s. Don’t forget to subscribe, rate and review on iTunes and then follow us on Facebook and Twitter. Thanks for listening!

Listography: Episode 15

Let’s keep it moving right along in this Music Series. The 60’s are in the books and now we’re focused on the 70’s. Another dynamite decade that blessed us with bands like The Eagles, Queen and Fleetwood Mac, while giving us solo acts such as Elton John and Stevie Wonder.

Good luck narrowing these lists down.

Of course, that is our job though, so here is the Mount Rushmore of 70’s Music Acts and our Top 5 Favorite Songs of the 70’s. We hope you enjoy, but we also hope you share. What bands make your Mount Rushmore? What songs would you have to include? Let us know in the comments below or on Facebook and Twitter.

That’s all for this week, but we’re back next week with the 80’s! Don’t forget to subscribe, rate and review on iTunes and then follow us on Facebook and Twitter. Thanks for listening!

Listography: Episode 14

Hello again, friends! We’re back after a few weeks off to focus on busy work schedules and we have a new series coming at you. With movies in the books, we’re shifting our focus to music. Much like the movie madness series, we will go through by decade and take a look at the best artists, bands, songs and much more. On this episode, we’re taking a look at the GOAT of music decades: the 1960’s.

The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Beach Boys and many more dominated the decade that has shaped our music forever. You will hear plenty of talk about those bands in this episode as we break down the Mount Rushmore of 60’s Music Acts and then give you our Top 5 Favorite Songs of the 60’s.

Since we haven’t done a pod in a few weeks, we finish up the show with Three Things Since Our Last Show. Avengers: Endgame, Robert Pattinson and the NBA were on our mind. We hope you enjoy the show, and most of all, we hope it encourages you to put the needle down on a classic record.
